Bridal Trial - $65 for the trial

For the wedding day, it is important that the bride books her appointment as far in advance as possible in order to get the day she wants.

Wedding Day in Salon:

$175 per person for the up-do or blow-dry and makeup.

Wedding Day at Their Home:

$200 per person and there must be a group of 5 people or more. A deposit of $200 is required upon booking.

Just Relax: Do’s and Don’ts for Relaxed Hair

More black women than ever are relaxing their hair. But with increased versatility comes other concerns, namely dryness. To keep your locks looking lustrous Grace Tartaglia has a few do’s and don’ts for relaxed hair.

Do’s

Do pick the right strength of relaxer. Grace used a mild relaxer or texturizer on our model’s hair to loosen up her curl and to give her hair body.

Do get your hair relaxed every six to eight weeks. Too much regrowth and the hair will start to break off and the roots will get too heavy.

Do condition every time you shampoo. Conditioner protects hair and prepares it for professional styling. Deep condition at least once every week and a half to strengthen the hair.

Don’ts

Don’t blow-dry without protection. Part hair in sections and apply a gel or cream heat-activated protector.

Don’t wash your hair more than once a week. You risk drying out your hair and causing split ends.

Wispy Bangs

Not every woman likes the look of straight, blunt bangs so follow this method for a wispy, feathery look.

Before you start make sure your hair is dry and clean. Kitchen scissors may work on paper but they’re not suited to trimming hair. Use a pair of manicure scissors or haircutting scissors from a local beauty supply store.

Twist your bangs around a few times and then snip into the ends.

Blunt Bangs

If straight, blunt bangs are more your style follow this method for evenly cut bangs.

Before you start make sure your hair is dry and clean. Kitchen scissors may work on paper but they’re not suited to trimming hair. Use a pair of manicure scissors or haircutting scissors from a local beauty supply store.

Divide your bangs into two sections. Pin the top section back off your face.

Comb the bottom section. Then using a comb as a guide start cutting from one side straight across your bangs to the middle. Repeat starting from the other side. Be sure not to cut above your eyebrows.

Unpin the second section of hair and repeat step 3 using the first section as a guideline. If the first section is too short the second section will hide it.

Lena's hairstyle wasn't doing much for her in part because her hair is so fine...

Image Makeover Salon's Grace Tartaglia gave her a bold new bob, more sculptural for her face. It's fuller through the back, and frames her face much better.

Adi Lando of Sephora played up Lena's blue eyes with a smoky grey eyeshadow. He also added more drama by giving her a brighter lip shade than she normally wears.

From Frizzy to Curly: Black Hair Care Secrets

 Caring for your curls is always a challenge but it’s more difficult for black women whose hair tends to be drier. Grace Tartaglia shows one woman how to manage her very curly, frizzy hair. 

1. Put a nice soft colour in the hair for more curl definition. Use a gentle developer that won’t dry out the hair. 
2. Shampoo the hair with a moisturizing shampoo. 
3. Apply a gel to define the curls. Later divide the hair into large sections and twist so the curls fall in little corkscrews or spirals.
